Graduate ResearchAs a graduate student, I was tasked with completing a professional project, which included a professional skills and professional analysis component, to earn my Master of Arts degree. Over the span of three semesters, I worked toward executing and finishing a qualitative research study that pertained to the journalism and strategic communication industries while working a public relations internship in New York City. In 2022, I successfully defended my 300-page project, "The Great Resignation: TV News, Women, and the Change They Need," to my committee. Catch a glimpse of an overview of my project below or see the full report/my published work on RJI and MOspace.

Public RelationsAt the award-winning agency Sharp Think, I worked across various accounts in the home + design, architecture and lifestyle spaces for industry-leading clients, including Cosentino, Kohler, Four Hands, Brown Jordan Outdoor Kitchens and the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County. Throughout my roles, I contributed as a proactive member to my teams' accounts by diligently assisting with public relations and media relations efforts through pitching media, facilitating requests, obtaining placements, developing media lists, drafting agendas, and more.
I learned about the practical application of public relations during my graduate studies and applied the information and skills I learned to a content creation and earned media project. Learn more about my project below. |
Strategic CommunicationI worked as a digital strategist for AdZou, a full-service advertising agency at the Missouri School of Journalism. Along with my team, I worked to create an integrated, targeted campaign for a new company. Additionally, I served as an account executive for a mock advertising campaign. As a strategic communicator, I have learned how to efficiently and effectively reach target audiences through in-depth research, creative concepts and cohesive designs.

News ReportingAs a multimedia journalist for KOMU-TV, an NBC-affiliate television station, I pitched, wrote and edited day-turn and enterprise stories that impacted mid-Missouri. My experience as a news reporter has taught me how to conduct professional interviews, shoot supplement footage and utilize multimedia platforms. Click below to see several packages and VOSOTs that I shot, scripted and compiled.

News WritingIn addition to writing scripts, editing footage and posting to social media, I wrote web stories that provided more detail and information in comparison to the broadcasted story on television. Web stories allow viewers to interact, engage and stay updated on stories via digital devices. Click below to view the web stories I wrote for KOMU-TV, which are on its website.

PhotographyThe journalism courses I have took through the Missouri School of Journailism taught me the fundamentals of photography and have also equipped me photography skills. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy engaging in personal photography. Whether it be nature, friends or destinations, I always have a camera in my hand.
